Honoring Jordana's legacy by 'Making Waves to Fight Cancer'
Cancer impacts so many of our lives. I didn't appreciate how true this statement was until it hit directly in my family in August 2012. My daughters and I lost Jordana in 2018 after her five and a half year battle with cancer. Jordana fought with everything she had.... through more chemo, radiation, surgeries, scans, biopsies, medical procedures.....than I thought was possible.
The Swim Across America (SAA) is a charitable Open Water Swim to raise money to support the fight against cancer. This year's SAA Swim in Houston is on April 30, 2022 at Lake Longhorn; I will be in the water for the 2 mile swim. The primary beneficiary of SAA in Houston is MD Anderson where Jordana underwent the majority of her treatments during her courageous fight.
During Jordana's fight, we received support from so many people, some we knew and many we didn't. I swim so I can pay it forward to others in the same fight. My personal goal is to raise $3,000. Please join me in continuing the fight against cancer and honoring Jordana's legacy by considering a donation to this worthy cause, coming down to Houston and hopping in the water with me, cheering me on, or by supporting another similar event in your area.
If you do donate, first off... thank you! Secondly, you can make a credit/debit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, 8508 Park Road #389, Charlotte, NC 28210. Checks should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting!
