I am swimming with Swim Across America in honor of our team captain, Adam Schoen, who fought AND WON a hard battle with cancer this past year, along with his amazing wife, Claire, and their 2.5 year old, Theo. They kicked cancer's butt (bottom, sorry).
I am asking for your support. An estimated 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. Meanwhile, National Cancer Institute funding for investigative research and clinical trials has decreased 25% the past 10 years. This benefit swim is so important because it raises dollars that are invested into early stage cancer research and clinical trials. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives.
Thank you so much for your support as we make "Make Waves Defeat Cancer."
