2023 Houston Open Water Swim

Oncological Goggle Gaggle

Oncological Goggle Gaggle was created in honor of brain cancer survivor Adam Schoen

The Oncological Goggle Gaggle Manifesto:

Principle I. The Oncological Goggle Gaggle (“OGG” for short) is relentless, tenacious, bodacious.
Principle II. The Oncological Goggle Gaggle (“OGG” for short) can swim.
Principle III. Don't want to have too many principles. That's enough.

This particular event (SAA Houston) benefits MD Anderson Cancer Center - specifically the departments of neuro-oncology and pediatrics - and besides swimming and raising funds in honor of Adam, we're also doing it in memory of John Jochetz (glioblastoma) and Sam Pampel (neuroblastoma / pediatric), who continue to inspire us.

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the Houston Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can. Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.  Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
