Gay Silverman
On November 26, 2021 we lost our coach “Gay Silverman” to cancer and formed this team to honor her.
Gay Silverman coached the Silver Streaks swim team and was incredibly generous to allow me to come back and swim in my 30’s. Anyone that knew Gay, knows, how incredibly giving she was. The Silver Streaks was a team that was diverse and inclusive and enabled those to participate in a sport when it wasn't always accessible to them. The training that she gave me enabled me to capture over 20 Top Ten wins in USMS and multiple personal best times. On a personal level, she was also like a mother to me and I don’t have the words to express how much I miss her.
Life is so unpredictable, and we never truly know how much time we have. I'm so incredibly grateful for the time I did have with her and for all that she taught me.
