We all know someone who has been impacted by cancer in some way. This spring it hit close to home. My awesome husband Richard is battling lymphoma, and he completed his first chemo week last week. On Saturday July 27th I will be swimming 10k across Long Island Sound to raise money to fight cancer. This event is doubly meaningful as not only is Richard fighthing the disease, but one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised in SAA - Long Island Sound is the SAA Laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and MSK is where Richard is being treated.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself with my longest swim ever by swimming literally across the Sound from Glen Cove to Larchmont and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
