In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the Long Island Sound Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can.
Swim Across America has been working to support cancer research, treatment, and prevention for more than 25 years. In that time SAA has raised millions for Sloan Kettering and the Columbia Children's Hospital, and made a real impact in the fight to find a cure. Since our effort began in Westchester, the landmark discoveries and treatments developed have been truly game-changing. Memorial Sloan Kettering was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the development of Immunotherapy. But the concept of immunotherapy did not qualify for grant money and would not have proceeded to the development stage but for the funding from SAA - and donations from you.
This year we are swimming to honor all the Wins - the folks who are beating this disease with the amazing new treatments made possible by the years of contributions to which SAA has been dedicated - and in particular, our friend Bruce whose new immunotherapy treatment has shown miraculous success. Bruce is doing GREAT and new treatments will become available as quickly as funding allows.
Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
