1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime.
I joined the SWIM ACROSS AMERICA community almost 30 years ago so that, together, we can change that. TEAM SABATINI was started 19 years ago in memory of my father, Bill Sabatini, who lost his battle with cancer in 2004. In the peacefulness of the water, we swim to remember him and other family and friends who have lost their battle. This year I swim especially for friends battling their fight against cancer.
There has been much progress over the years due to Swim Across America fundraising. Our fundraising for Team Sabatini is an integral part of continuing this progress. At the Swim Across Americal kick-off meeting last month, I was again amazed to meet some doctors and researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
In 2020, even though COVID forced the cancelation of the official event, I swam a mile each day during July, and Team Sabatini was still able to raise money. Last year, even with a small team, Team Sabatini participated. We are back with even more swimmers this year. In addition to the Sound and pool swims, I pledge to again swim a mile each day in July. I also look forward to swimming with everyone else in the Long Island Sound on July 31st and raising as much money as possible to fight cancer.
Please support Team Sabatini by sponsoring our team's swim, our any team member's swim, and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention, and treatment and will impact the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity, and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
