At the beginning of 2024, Maranda was diagnosed with cancer is currently undergoing treatment. On July 27, 2024, Maranda's friends from the College of the Holy Cross will be honoring her current battle by tackling an Open Water Swim in the Long Island Sound.
If you know Maranda, you know that her survival has never been in question. She is quite possibly one of the strongest people that we know and she will most certainly overcome this. The team name, “Maranda’s Survival Crew”, was created on a recent girls trip to Sedona, AZ. For our crew, “survival” refers to our roles as lifelines for one another. Despite our differences, we have consistently showed up for the good and the bad in each other’s lives. We have been there for marriages, births, divorce, deaths, successes, failures and tragedies. We have moved beyond just being friends and are truly sources of strength and family to one another.
Please consider supporting us in our efforts and Maranda in her ongoing battle by donating to this organization and to cancer research. Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies.
