Last Saturday on AUGUST 17, I completed Swim Across America Nantucket's 4th Annual 4-MILE Swim!!! It was hard work, but not as difficult as the challenge of a cancer diagnosis. Together 13 4-Mile swimmers raised over $85,000 (and still counting) swimming along Nantucket's north shore from Eel Point to Jetties to fight cancer on Nantucket. And we're still counting as this Saturday is our big event at Jetties Beach where hundreds of swimmers will dive in together for this important cause. Please help me reach my goal of $10,000!
I became involved with Swim Across America in 1994 and have been swimming annually ever since, in memory of my brother Rufus who fought bravely against a spinal astrocytoma and passed away in 1981. My dedication to this organization is a very meaningful part of my life... I am grateful for your support!
Our proceeds enable Nantucket patients to receive world-class care right here on the island - oncology, chemotherapy, consults, therapy, counseling, and hospice care - which has truly changed the face of cancer care on Nantucket...OUR Island, OUR Family, OUR Swim, OUR Cause!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, P.O. Box 3271, Nantucket MA 02584. Please make a note with your check that you are supporting me. Thank you!
