Welcome to Randy's Personal Page
Dear friends and family,
This weekend I'm doing another 4 mile ocean swim off of Nantucket to support Swim Across America's fight against cancer. But this time, the purpose of the event hits especially close to home. I'm swimming in the memory of my Dad, who died from cancer in early February.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I amchallenging myself by swimming in the Nantucket Island Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer on Nantucket.
We are changing the game of cancer care on Nantucket and we should all be proud of that. With the Nantucket Cottage Hospital's Oncology Program, we are providing funding to allow world-class oncologists from Mass General to travel to Nantucket to see our patients. This reduces the need for our loved ones to travel during a time where energy should be spent on healing. Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket 's (PASCON) Survivorship Program works with not just the patient but with the family coping with this disease to help people regain and maintain well-being throughout the entire cancer experience.
Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer care on Nantucket. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
