Thank you for clicking on my link, and thank you for your interest in this very special event. Im excited to say this is my 4th time participating in Swim Across America, and I hope you are excited to help us get to our goals!
Cancer is such a scary word, and it seems these days it's growing more and more common in our everyday life. I have seen the destruction, and devastation that cancer has caused; like a tornato, only causing damage to one house and leaving the rest of the street whole but broken. I've also seen the love, and acceptance cancer has caused, as a whole community comes together to help each other in their time of need. "Together we are not alone, and together we will come out on top".
A little bit of my experiences with Cancer;
Some of you may know, i have 3 grandfathers, and they have all been diagnosed with Cancer. Unfortunately 2 of them have passed from cancer.
Grandpa Elwin "Al" Mandigo Sr., 71, died Aug. 6, 2011, He was born on June 26, 1940. He received his cancer diagnosis a month before passing leaving behind his wife.
Grandpa Robert L. Poulin Sr., 78, of Spruce Street passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at his home with his wife by his side after a lengthy battle with kidney cancer. Born on Feb. 12, 1938
Luckily my Grandpa Dow recovered and is living a fabulous life.
