Welcome to My Personal Page
On August 25, I'll be swimming in the "Nantucket Island Swim" fundraiser to support those, on Nantucket, living with cancer. Once again, I’ve joined the “Swimming for Moms” team, founded by Pat McEvoy and Tim Farley, two young men who lost their mothers to breast cancer. And this year the swim has even more meaning for me, since my sister, Peggy, has been diagnosed with cancer and has just begun her chemo treatments I swim for her, to honor the moms, and for everyone I know (and don’t know) who has been affected by cancer in any way
Swim Across America is a national event, with fundraising proceeds going directly back to the local community. Donations directly support the Nantucket Cottage Hospital (NCH) and the Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket (PASCON) oncology efforts to fund vital services for local and visiting cancer patients, minimizing their need to travel for appointments, testing and treatment. Our support allows NCH oncology programs to keep more Nantucket residents on-island for their cancer care, providing them a compassionate and caring environment. We help bring world-class oncologists to the island, allowing our patients to receive treatments at home. Through PASCON, our patients and families receive important physical, emotional and spiritual care free of charge.
Any donation you can make will be appreciated. Many small donations add up quickly! You can make a credit card donation by clicking on "DONATE" or send a check to Swim Across America - Nantucket, PO Box 3271, Nantucket, MA 02584
Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting.
Thank you so much!
