Our SWIM supports local cancer care and support services provided by our longstanding beneficiaries Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Palliative and Supportive Care on Nantucket (PASCON), which provides direct cancer care and services to island patients and families who are coping with cancer, free of charge and allowing patients to access much of their cancer care close to home. Additionally, a portion of the funds we raise go to our beneficiary partner in Massachusetts General Cancer Center for critical research and clinical trials, bringing with it the hope and promise of putting an end to cancer. With the advent of ground-breaking new therapies in recent years, we are living in a time where we can see tangible benefits that are the result of tireless research and development of cancer-fighting and cancer-curing drugs and immunotherapies,  And, for many of our local and summer community members who are faced with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis, some of those same therapies are available on-island at the Swim Across America Infusion Center at the Cottage Hospital. Swim Across America Nantucket brings together the vital components of Making Waves to Fight Cancer: fundraising for cancer care and support, and funding for research to bring this terrible disease to an end.
