I lost my sister Ali to cancer in 2015. Two years later, my sister-in-law Elicia succumbed to cancer as well. They were both 48, cut down in the prime of their lives, but fighters to the end. 

I’ve joined Swim Across America in Nashville as a team relay member of Chris’ Cancer Crushers, to support the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Ingram—ranked 9th in NCI grant funding—has more than 300 researchers and physician-scientists in 8 research programs. They have developed MyCancerGenome.org an award-winning online resource for genetically informed cancer information, which has received visitors from over 200 countries/territories. They collaborate with the leading cancer centers to share their research findings with national groups of oncology specialists.
