It is everywhere...
In the past couple of years I have learned more about chemo, radiation hospitals and surgeries than I ever thought I would. That's because my brother and my very good friend were both diagnosed with cancer.
I have also learned how many MORE people I know have known someone close to them or have had some kind of cancer themselves:
ALL OF THEM.
I am sure you know people who have had it too - maybe even yourself.
You can't find anyone whose life has not been somehow touched by cancer.
Let's bring that to a screeching halt.
My brother Mac died in August 2023 about 2.5+ years after his pancreatic diagnosis. That was considered a long time. I am happy to say he used that time well!
Mac and my friend both had a lot of very nasty treatments, nasy side effects, and lost a lot of hair
(I lost a lot of hair when I shaved my head in Nov '22 - that was very cold )
My friend is doing great and Mac got 2.5 years of extra time thanks to all the research that has already been done, but there is still SO much more to do!
Swim Across America on April 21 at Ensworth's pool raises money for cancer research.
Please help!
I have a Swim Across America relay team and would LOVE for you to join me in the pool!!! It is a big pool party with lots of snacks!!
My team's name is
Tenn. Aquatics Project feat. Dee & friends
I coach the kids at Tenn Aquatics Project so they can be swim teachers, get lifeguard and scuba certified, then help clean up Tennessee's water - and SO much more!
They are super excited to participate again this year!
If swimming is not your bag, you can volunteer to help at the swim or make a donation to fund more research!
ANY amount of $$$ is greatly appreciated and makes a big difference!!!
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
Thanks so much!
