Swimming for my niece Chandler Altenbern Lundy a survivor!
Dear Friends,
Many of you may recall I participated in Swim Across America (SAA), a charity swim with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I joined Swim Across America because I want to help give more hope to families dealing with this terrible disease. Having watched my niece battle through Burkitt Lymphoma while in college and now is CANCER FREE, I jumped on this opportunity to do something I’m passionate about (swimming ;), while raising money to fund more research.
Two years, SAA began a partnership with the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, and we created our 1st Annual SAA-Nashville fundraiser event. Participants from all over TN raised approximately $60,000, which is now funding research at a specifically selected VICC lab. 2023 SAA-Nashville is our 2nd annual event, and our goal is to raise over $75,000 for VICC.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $1000 I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you, Mike
PS. I have no idea how far I am swimming. Just showing up!
