Welcome to My Personal Page
I am happy to be able to participate in the Annual Rhode Island Swim Across America event. Every year I swim this event, in honor of the many people who are currently battling cancer and in memory of my family members and friends that have lost their battles to cancer.
This year, as always, I swim in memory of my wonderful parents, who within a month of each other were diagnosed with cancer and who died fourteen months apart from one another. In July 2009, my dad, Tony Santoro, who had been in remission from Hodgkin's lymphoma for 7 years, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. A month later, my mom, Maria, was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. My dad passed away on February 2, 2010 and my mom lost her battle with cancer on April 30, 2011. However, additionally I am swimming in honor of myself and friends that have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, have beat it and those still going through it.
Please help me raise money to hopefully find a cure to cancer.
Thank you!!
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We all eventually feel the effects of this pervasive disease ourselves or on those we love. You can help us fight cancer by making a financial donation and/or registering as a swimmer or volunteer. Your tax-deductible contribution will help fund cancer research at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island.
