Welcome to My Personal Page
Why I Swim.
I swim so parents won't have to deal with the shock and horror of hearing the words; " Your Child / Husband / Wife / loved one... has Caner".
I swim so parents won't spend sleepless nights wondering...Why? Why my child?
I swim so children, spouses, and family members can focus on getting thru the day when their world is suddenly turned upside down.
I swim so the person diagnosed doesn't have to deal with the physical and torture of knowing what they're up against.
I swim so parents don't have to watch in agony as their child or loved one suffers thru endless hours of chemo and the days / weeks long after affects.
I swim so your don't have to hear the words, "There's nothing else we can do".
I swim so others don't have to experience what I have experienced.
I swim in memory of my son Ian, but also for so many others that have been taken from us.
I swim so others don't have to!!!
This will be now my 7th year participating in the great event, although this year will be in the northern waters of Rhode Island. I'm hoping that many of my New England friends and relatives will be able to come out to support me for this wonderful cause.
This is a picture of my son Ian who died in November 2015 after 2 years of fighting esophageal cancer. Ian was 18 when he was diagnosed. A high school All-American in both water polo and swimmer his junior year. It shows how cancer knows no age, sex or race. It's a disease that affects 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women. It impacts more than just the individual but families as well.
I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
I'm asking you to consider donating to this worthwhile cause.
Thank you to those of you who have already donated and for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
Come join the Team... Team 13!!! Dream...Train... Achieve!!!
