As you may have heard, the Swim Across America Rhode Island event has been cancelled for 2020. Unfortunately, this is the 2nd year in a row the swim is cancelled. The event was canceled last year due to a hurricane. Regardless, the fight for local cancer research must go on!
I’m the Team Merck Rhode Island Swim team captain. You DON"T have to be an employee of Merck to support our team. As a first-time captain, I can use all the help I can get. My hope is that you join Team Merck Rhode Island and participate in our 'virtual' swim. You may also make a donation to me and our team!
The mission of Swim Across America is to support local cancer research. I'm very proud to be part of their mission to 'support local cancer research' her in Rhode Island. I'm even more proud to be support the Program in Women's Oncology at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. Although we're in the smallest state in the union, the research arm of the Women's Oncology Program is one of the largest, most comprehensive and respected in the entire country!
I personally have a several friends and relatives who are cancer survivors and continue to benefit from the research, support and services provided by the Program in Women's Oncology.
Thank you again for supporting our team and and for continuing to spread the word regarding this amazing, local program at Women and Infants Hospital!
