Every year Swim Across America holds this event to raise money for cancer research, clinical trails and patient support. This year I will be getting involved as part of Bryant University's swim and dive team.

I have personally lost my Grandad and my Aunty Frances to cancer, and I know that so many other people have had to face the awful challenge of losing a loved one to this horrible disease.

Through events like this, raising awareness and also money, we will eventually be able to have a cure or treatments effective enough to greatly increase the percentage of cancer survivors.
