2024 Rhode Island Open Water Swim

SWIMRI MAKING WAVES TO FIGHT CANCER!
SWIMRI MAKING WAVES TO FIGHT CANCER!

SwimRI

Cancer touches us all, but we can effect change by supporting the search for a cure.

Swim Across America's Rhode Island Open Water Swim is an annual charity event held on the Saturday after Labor Day at scenic Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett. This year's swim is September 7, 2024.

Since 2010, this event has raised over $2 million for the Program in Women's Oncology at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, a world-renowned facility where researchers and clinicians uncover key answers to the questions of cancer.

Prior SAA-RI funding contributed to the discovery of a biomarker for ovarian cancer and development of a test that is now used worldwide to help improve patient outcomes by enabling earlier detection, diagnoses, and treatment.

This funding underscores the importance of philanthropy to potentially lifesaving or life-altering medical research, including promising studies that have not yet received National Institutes of Health or other government grants.

To join our SwimRI fundraising team, register for the SAA-RI Swim as an in-person swimmer, volunteer, or virtual SAA My Way participant.

You can make a tax-deductible donation by clicking on a SwimRI team member's name and paying online via credit card or by writing a check made out to "Swim Across America" and mailing it to:
