The Wright Stuff
As many of you know, my partner Jay Peluso has been the event director for Swim Across America- Richmond for the last 3 years. SAA raises money for cancer research and the proceeds from the events across the country go directly to local researchers.
This year's event has even more meaning to us as Jay's sister, Michele Wright, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer in March. She is a vibrant, 48-year old woman with two amazing sons- one at West Point and one a minor league pitcher for the SF Giants organization and in town this year playing for the Richmond Flying Squirrels!
Michele, her husband, Matt, and most of Jay's family live in Rhode island and SAA helped to get her the best care possible. She is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, but she is a fighter and is determined to make it to Richmond to see some Squirrels games!
If you are able, please consider making a gift to Swim Across America. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
