I am passionate about the Swim Across America community because together, we can make an impact in the important fight against cancer. SAA-Richmond raises funds for VCU Massey Cancer Center, a pioneer in the battle against cancer. With the help of SAA's early-stage funding, they are able to conduct trials that can lead to life-saving breakthroughs. I will participate in the 4th annual open water charity swim in the James River on August 27, 2022. I will be swimming to honor my sister Marilyn’s continuing remission, my aunt Lana's life-extending cancer treatments, and too many friends who have fought this disease.
