One of my lifelong dreams is to swim the English Channel.  This year, I was fortunate enough to be invited to join an English Channel Relay Team with a swim window from June 19-July 2.  I'm going to Dover!  To make this swim more meaningful, several of our team members have decided to raise money for Swim Across America so that we can help fund UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital's efforts to treat children with cancer and to do cutting edge research into finding a cure.  

In my family alone, we have lost my mother, my brother, and my brother-in-law to cancer.  In addition, my sister and I have both had bouts with cancer.  (Don't worry, I'm fine!) It means a lot to me to help others who have suffered from cancer and to help find a cure.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
