Oakland Barracudas

2022 special dedication

This year, Oakland Barracudas swims in honor of our leader, Ann Petru. Ann is the one who has kept this Master's team going through years of coach changes, fights with the city of Oakland, and pandemic adjustments. We couldn't swim if it weren't for Ann. She is also one of the Pediatric Infectious Disease physicians at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. She has touched many lives through her work with complicated medical situations, young HIV patients, and ethics dilemmas. Ann is fighting a second battle against a new and different kind of breast cancer and won't be able to swim for 6 weeks. We will train and fundraise in her honor this year. Thank you, Ann, for all that you have done for 'Cudas and we wish you well through this process.

This event combines swimming with supporting UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals' cancer programs. What better way to bring our 'Cudas together?! And a perfect way to honor Ann, our swimming and pediatric ID leader.

Join our team now! Cuda swimmer or no just click on the button to Join Team and add yourself to the roster. Email me at to join our weekend bay workouts.
