2023 San Francisco Bay Open Water Swim

Sarah supporting Alice at an Alcatraz swim
Sarah supporting Alice at an Alcatraz swim

Oakland Barracudas

Cudas are #makingwaves again!

We have been swimming together in this event for many years now. We are proud to have a small but mighty team with a consistently high per-swimmer donation level.

This year we swim in honor of our teammate Alice whose sister Sarah recently succumbed to ovarian cancer. Alice will not be able to join us since Sarah's memorial service is on 9/30. We will think of Alice and Sarah and all of our other loved ones who have been battling cancer as we set our Gerber daisies afloat and swim along the SF shore. The photo on our page is Sarah supporting Alice on an Alcatraz swim.

Join our team now! Cuda swimmer or no, just click on the button to Join Team and add yourself to the roster. Email me at to join our weekend bay workouts.

If you can't swim, you can at least donate or better yet volunteer for this event. When you donate, please choose a team member to enter their page (don't donate on this team page!). We would like each team member to make "Wavemaker status" this year! Thank you!

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team (see Team Roster bar), or send a check to Swim Across America, c/o Nathaniel Berger, 921 Church St., San Francisco, CA 94114Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning the swimmer you are supporting!
