In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, a few years ago, Patti joined this "club" but happily, she kicked cancer's a%% and is doing great.
I joined the SAA community so that I could honor Patti, and the many people who continue to fight this battle as well as sadly, the many people who have lost this battle.
This year, I am not able to actually participate in the San Francisco swim as I will be out of town visiting our daughter who just started college.
BUT I did recently do a solo swim across Tahoe (12 miles!) and during that swim, MANY times thought about Patti and the many who fight so hard - harder than any swim any of us will do - and it gave me a lot of strength when I needed it most.
Please support this cause by joining my team or by sponsoring that swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, c/o Anthony DuComb, 1684 8th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122.
Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting!
