Hi Family and Friends,
I was lucky enough to have been invited to the SAA national summit this year. I met people from all across the country (24 sites) who all have the same vision- to organize open water swims (and pool swims) to raise money to fight cancer. I have been with this amazing organization for 9 years and continue to learn more and every year and am more impressed by the passion, dedication and effort put into every event. This is the 15th year of the SAA event in Seattle ane we hope to make a huge impact.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
This year I will be swimming with Team Shelly, a close friend who was lost to advanced colon cancer in 2013. I swim for my dear friend Lisa who battled breast cancer. I swim for my close cousin Missy who is fighting colon cancer and so many more.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. All of the money you provide stays local and goes to fund research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
Thank you, Beth
