Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted open water swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.

In a nutshell, SAA provides angel funding for cancer research. We have proof this unique method works.  Swim Across America's funding early stage grants have played a major role in clinically developing FDA-approved immunotherapy treatments like Ipilimumab (YERVOY), Nivolumab (OPDIVO), Pembrolizumab (KEYTRUDA) & Atezolizumab (TECENTRIQ). Swim Across America does this by hosting charity swims across the country. 

I started swimming with SAA in 2010 and joined the all volunteer Seattle team in 2015. I want to be a part of the change to help give more families hope. I am swimming in honor of Missy, Keawe, Heidi and Gary, while remembering Shelly, Ewan, Bert and Harry. I am swimming with my golden retriever Casey, who is passionate about everything, including swimming, squirrels and sticks.
