Welcome to the Martha Ries and David Day Personal Page
Since 2009, my wife Martha and I have been participating in Swim Across America by raising funds for cancer research Fred Hutch Cancer Center knowing it was for someone else. June of 2015, Martha was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Oddly, the discovery was the result of a shoulder x-ray as she was considering whether surgery was needed to repair her "swimmer's shoulder".as she was preparing to swim the 2 mile course again. Martha bravely worked to cure herself with diet, exercise, sleep, two rounds of chemo, surgeries at UW and clinical trials, but passed away in late May 2016. We miss her everyday and continue to keep her spirit moving on and fight to beat this cancer. So much knowledge is needed to fight cancer and we know she and many are the beneficiary of all the previous research, but we need more knowledge to advance further. Please join her Team and contribute to support more research helping grow our knowledge and beat cancer for everyone.
Thanks,
David, Ryan and Lauren
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming in the Seattle Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to;
