This has been an unprecendented and difficult year on many levels and, on top of our battle with the Covid-19 virus, I lost another friend to cancer this year, and my daughter, Meredith, just learned that one of her high school friends was diagnosed with cancer. This disease touches everyone, and unfortunately during these crazy times, cancer isn’t going into quarantine. That is why I’m STILL making waves to fight cancer with Swim Across America (SAA).
Our open water swim on Lake Washington won't be held this September so I'm joining SAA's "Coast to Coast Challenge" and swimming laps from June through mid-September. My miles will be combined with other virtual participants in our community as we make waves across America together to try and log enough miles to virtually travel from Nantucket to Los Angeles.
I hope you will please consider making a donation to my Swim Across America Coast to Coast Challenge through https://www.swimacrossamerica.org/site/TR/OpenWater/Seattle?px=1592341&pg=personal&fr_id=5530. The money you give will go toward cutting-edge cancer research and make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
Thank you in advance for your generous support of my efforts and Swim Across America. If you would like to join our team and register as a virtual challenge participant to help us make waves across America, simply register at swimacrossamerica.org.
With great appreciation,
