In May of 2022, my stepdad, Mark Walker, was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), an aggressive type of blood cancer. Despite many months of treatment including several types of chemotherapy, Mark lost his battle with cancer in Feb of 2023. But the exceptional team at Fred Hutchinson that supported him throughout his cancer journey continues the work to find new and effective treatments for all types of cancers. 

Swim Across America Seattle exists to help fund those efforts. I've signed up for this year's swim in Mark's honor and to ensure that fewer cancer families end their journey as we did. Will you join me by supporting my swim with a donation, or by signing-up to swim on Team Walker in honor of Mark?
