This is my third year participating in the Swim Across America (SAA) fundraiser, benefiting Fred Hutch Cancer Center, to support cancer research.  This fundraiser is very important, as it raises money that is invested into early stage cancer research and clinical trials.  The swim will be on Saturday, September 7th at Sunset Beach on Lake Sammamish.

My passion for swimming extends far beyond the pool, so when this annual event comes around each year, I swim in honor of my dad, who lost his battle 16 years ago, as well as for my mom, who is a breast-cancer survivor, proudly now for 11 years!!  There are so many others who are fighting their own personal battle whom I don't even know......I swim for them, too.  

I am excited, once again, to be participating in this year's Swim Across America event in hopes of making a difference for future generations.
