11 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. The struggle to fight cancer is not foreign to me as my mother experienced this all when I was just seven years old. Since 2018, she has been in remission and continues to get care from Dr. Nick Chen with Seattle Integrative Cancer Center in Renton. 

I am committed to swim and support Swim Across America not only to raise money for cancer research but also to raise awareness of all types of cancer that affect millions of people and their families. I will be swimming 2 miles in this event in memory of our family friend, Michiyo Nishimoto.  #MakeWavesToFightCancer
