Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.

Team John was created in remembrance of Coach John Walker and the support of all cancer patients. John Walker was a co-founder of Olympic Cascade Aquatics, a year-round swim team that advocates swimming as a lifetime sport to its community. He also was a Senior age group Head Coach. Coach John is remembered as a positive, kind, empowering and strong, human and coach. He believed in always building up and supporting each other in a way that makes us better swimmers and people. John passed away in August of 2018 due to cancer. His legacy and beliefs will always be honored and never forgotten. Team John wants to support Swim Across America in raising the funds to fight cancer and strive for a world where, when cancer patients receive a diagnosis they don't have to wonder if they will survive. Coach John always used to say, "Swim Fast and Have Fun." We are going to live out John's motto and do exactly just that. And raise funds to fight cancer in the process! We will be holding five open water swims on Sundays to prepare for the event, get comfortable in the water, bond with the team and have a great time (plus, there will be food)! All ages and stages are welcome! To sign up/learn more, click the link below!
