Hi Friends! Here we are going into year 3 and we are pumped even more so than ever! I am so thrilled and humbled to be a part of such a wonderful and special event in Swim Across America! The people involved from organizers, to participants, to the doctors at the Siteman Cancer Center are incredibly special people who have incredibly huge hearts. I cannot think of a more worthy cause to jump in and try to help make a difference in the lives of so many. Last year's event was so wonderfully inspirational and motivating.
My team and I have started Team McKendree and would love to have you either join us at the event, or contribute to our group's efforts and be with us in spirit.
More that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with canceer in their lifetime. Chances are that you or a family member have already been affected by this horrible disease.
My Mom was well known in Louisville, Ky for her passion for swimming, and for doing her mile swim almost daily as she raised a family of 8 children. Even after the cancer was detected and surgery performed, she still tried to get to the pool as often as possible despite being extremely weak. She lost her battle to cancer at way too young of an age in 1980. I am working passionately with SAA to honor her, and for all of those family and friends who have lost love ones as well.
We are now preparing for our 2nd St Louis event on Aug.25. Please help me make an impact in the fight to find a cure by making tax free contribution to support my team. Thank you for your generosity and may it help lead to a cancer-free world!
