Cancer Sucks!
This year, cancer continues hitting too close to home. My Dad, Shawn Chalmers, my sister Kelsey Chalmers have continued battling through procedures and multiple scans. Thankfully, by the Grace of God, they are in stable conditions at this stage of their journey.
There are two other folks dear to my heart who are not in my immediate family but certainly part of my extended one. Lora Wellington and Ken Zehnder are both battling Cancer as we speak. We all know that cancer sucks. It zaps you of your energy and will, but not these two! This year, I am swimming for Lora and Ken so that we can raise money to fight this disease. We also will look cancer in the eye together and know this isn’t their identity.
Ken is an amazing Grandfather to a beautiful family, a supportive husband to Mary Ann Zehnder and an incredible Orthpedic Surgeon.
Lora is a beautiful Mother to four children and is married to a good friend of mine, Kevin Wellington. They are neighbors of ours and great friends in the Mary Queen of Peace community.
They are not cancer patients, they are wonderful human beings who I pray about and GET TO call my friends.
Please join me by supporting Swim Across America and its fight against cancer this year. Here is some more information on SAA
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thanks for your support
