Welcome to My Personal Page
Last summer, on a beautiful Friday evening, I was made aware that one of my family members was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This same evening, I decided to go for a lake swim. When I arrived at the beach, I was asked by a guy if I was training for Swim Across America. I said no, and then I inquired about who SAA supports and he shared it was Siteman Cancer Institute. The rest of the evening, all I could think about was how I had this amazing opportunity to put my swimming skills to good use and to support an amazing cause and I knew what I needed to do.
Last year's event was one of the most powerful days of my life. It was inspiring and emotional, and absolutely incredible to hear other people's stories and how cancer has impacted their lives and loved ones. What was even more powerful were the number of swimmers and community members who came together to support this event. I am proud to have been able to participate in this incredible event and it was a no-brainer to sign up again.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I am honored to join Swim Across America to help make a difference for those who are battling and facing this horrific disease.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives.
I am swimming in honor of my late grandfather and my recently diagnosed family member (not naming to respect their privacy).
Thank you for helping me make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
