Raising Money to Find a Cure!
“I am so very grateful for all these extra years of life I’ve been given. The chance to hug you, talk and laugh together is a very precious gift." - Marlene S. (Great Auntie)
For the second year in a row, I am swimming in honor of my great aunt, Marlene S. Great Auntie is a fun, loving, kind-spirited woman who loves to talk. She always makes people feel special and cared for and always has their best interest at heart. After receiving a diagnosis of stage 4 melanoma in 2019, she tried several traditional melanoma treatments that worked for a little while, but eventually, she needed more. Thankfully, she was able to join a melanoma drug trial. For almost 2 years, she has traveled from Chicago to LA every 3 weeks for treatment. Great Auntie has responded very well to the treatment, is feeling great and is proud to be a part of helping to find a cure for cancer.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
