I am swimming to celebrate and honor the extraordinary life of my friend Rudy Kumpf who passed away in March after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Rudy was truly larger than life. He loved his family, his many friends, fishing in Henderson Harbor and Florida, hunting, boating, playing poker with the guys and, especially, partying in the summer. His infectious sense of humor, kindness, compassion and wisdom will resonate and be remembered by all of us who cared for him. I will be forever grateful for knowing Rudy Kumpf.
