Dear Friends and Family,
Too many friends and family are being struck by cancer and I want to do my part to put an end to it. Last fall, our good friend Pat Heffernan got the dreaded news that no one wants to hear. In honor of Pat, Team Heff and his Swimmies was formed. We will each swim a mile at the annual Swim Across America Lakeside Pool Swim to, "make waves to fight cancer". Pat has undergone chemo, radiation, immunotherapy and very invasive surgery. His immunotherapy was originally discovered by the Swim Across America Lab at Sloan Kettering.
Pat is going to win his fight and the researchers we are supporting are going to help. Cancer sucks. Pat Rocks. We don't need to see anymore friends and family members suffer this fate. We will do what we can to get rid of cancer once and for all.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming a mile and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can at the Lakeside Field Club Pool Swim. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
Thank you for your support!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, PO Box 217, Larchmont, NY 10538.
Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting. THANK YOU!!
