Please support our swim
On Saturday August 7th, Jeff and I will be participating in the Swim Across America Pool Swim at the Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, N.Y. We’re swimming for Cancer Support Team, one of the beneficiaries of Swim Across America Long Island Sound, of which this swim is a part.
Cancer Support Team (CST) provides free nursing care, social work counseling, case management and other cancer related supportive services to people affected by cancer who live in lower Westchester. CST helps people of all socioeconomic backgrounds regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. And, CST continued to operate despite the pandemic. The heroic staff assisted 608 patients and families last year, and while in-person visits were lower, telemedicine visits were way up. All told, the clinical staff conducted 3,799 “visits” with patients. CST’s volunteer drivers made 655 trips taking patients to life-saving treatments, and the financial assistance program gave over $51,000 in 168 separate grants.
We all know cancer stinks. And, I know we all give to organizations that are fighting to find a cure. CST is unique in Westchester and in cancer care in general. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of cancer patients and their families—to ease the burden of those who are fighting the disease and those who live with and care for them. We’re swimming to raise money for CST, which is funded in full through grants and donations.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this cause. You can make your donation right here on this website. Or, if you prefer to write a check, just let me know and I will get in touch with you directly.
Thank you so very much for your support.
