Our Intrepid Nurse is back with a challenge to Nantucket. “Move the Rock!”. On August 28, 29 and 30th, we will be swimming, biking and running virtually to raise funds for Swim Across America-Nantucket. Because cancer continues to challenge our community and we are responding and answering the call.
Proceeds from Swim Across America - Nantucket will support cancer treatment and patient care at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket. Through the efforts of these organizations and the support of SAA - Nantucket, residents and visitors alike can receive outstanding cancer treatment and support on the island.

WHAT: Our Intrepid Nurse is back with a challenge to Nantucket, “Move the Rock!”. On August 28, 29 and 30th, we will be swimming, biking and running virtually to raise funds for Swim Across America-Nantucket which provides funding for oncology and palliative care for the Nantucket Cottage Hospital and PASCON. Each summer for the past eight years, hundreds of swimmers dove into Nantucket Sound to raise money to fight cancer with the annual Swim Across America swim. This is no ordinary summer. This year because of the corona virus we have to change course. We are swimming, biking and running virtually to raise money for on-island cancer care.
We have created race and event categories for all types and levels the last weekend of August. You can form a relay team and compete in a four-mile race, walk a 5k, run a half marathon, bike the Island or swim our beautiful coast all to support this great cause. You can participate anywhere in the world. The cost of entry is just $25.00 per event or an all access pass for $100.00. We suggest a minimum contribution of $50.00 and more is always welcomed and needed. If you wish to do additional fundraising, we will have prizes for those participants that raise $1,000 or more.
Another great t-shirt featuring our Intrepid Nurse will be provided to each entrant. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support our annual campaign goal of $450,000. We will also crown an Island King and Queen that weekend for the fastest man and woman who complete a one-mile swim, thirty-mile bike and half marathon run. It is a great way to thank our front line healthcare workers for their service, as well as help our island families that are in need. Get registered today, fight cancer and “Move the Rock”.
