The Douglaston Club Swim Team is Making Waves to Fight Cancer with Swim Across America! Swim Across America raises funds for cutting edge cancer research and clinical trials. This swim is a part of the Nassau / Suffolk Chapter of Swim Across America. Since their inception in 2001, the Nassau / Suffolk Chapter of Swim Across America has raised over $12,000,000 to cancer research, prevention and treatment.

Proceeds from the swim will support immunotherapy research at the Swim Across America Laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, lung cancer clinical trials at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, pediatric brain cancer research at the Feinstein Institute of North Shore and pediatric oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital.

WHAT: As a Douglaston community many of us have experienced the suffering and the loss of loved ones due to cancer. This fundraiser is our opportunity to turn something upsetting into something positive by raising money to find a cure for cancer. The event will also be a good way for our swimmers to learn about teaming and community spirit!
This is a private event for the Douglaston Community only.

HOW TO JOIN: Click the register button in the middle of this page and get your own fundraising page to send out to your friends and family.
All swimmers and volunteers must complete the waiver found here and bring to the event check-in. If you are under 18, please bring the waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
FUNDRAISING: We encourage swimmers to each raise at least $100. Many will raise more but if everyone raises $100, our swim could raise thousands to support cancer research, prevention and treatment.
Encouraged fundraising minimums are:
- Child (Under 18) - $100
- Adult (18 or Over) - $250
FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES: All swimmers will receive an SAA T-Shirt and Swim Cap! Raise more than $250 and you will receive an SAA Towel. Raise $1,000 and you will be acknowledged as a WaveMaker and receive WaveMaker benefits.
Individual WaveMaker Status: $1,000 fundraising minimum:
WaveMakers go above and beyond by raising at least $1,000 for SAA. Anyone can achieve WaveMaker status - swimmers, volunteers or SAA My Way participants. WaveMakers get special recognition and an exclusive WaveMaker gift. You can learn more about WaveMaker Status here.
