Join the South Orange Dolphins in a Pool Swim to Fight Cancer with Swim Across America. Everyone's life has been impacted by cancer which is why we're swimming to help "Make Waves to Fight Cancer" and raise money for cancer research, prevention and treatment.

ABOUT THE EVENT

WHAT: We started our “swimming laps for a cause” 11 years ago in order to support one of the moms on the Dolphins swim team, Monet Caputy Armenia, who was struggling with metastatic breast cancer. Monet passed away that summer, but will always be in our hearts. She was a phenomenal person: brave, dedicated to her family and friends, and had a great sense of humor and wit. To honor the memory of Monet, and carry on the tradition of giving back, we hold a yearly Monet Caputy Armenia Swim for a Cause.

This event is closed to South Orange Dolphins only.

WHEN: July 12, 2024 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

SWIM OPTIONS: There is no set distance but rather just swimming as many laps as you can!

HOW TO JOIN: Click the register button in the middle of this page and get your own fundraising page to send out to your friends and family. Sign up as an individual, create a team, or join a team by clicking on the corresponding button.

All swimmers and volunteers must complete the waiver found here and bring to the event check-in. If you are under 18, please bring the waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

FUNDRAISING: We encourage swimmers to each raise at least $100. Many will raise more but if everyone raises $100, our swim could raise thousands to support mission of SAA.

FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES: Every swimmer who participates will receive a Swim Across America cap and tattoos! Raise the amounts below and receive great SAA items for your efforts!

  • $50 - SAA T-Shirt.
  • $100 - SAA Sunglasses + $50 fundraising incentive.
  • $300 - SAA Towel + $100 fundraising incentives.
  • $1,000 - If you raise $1,000 you are acknowledged as a WaveMaker and receive WaveMaker benefits.

Individual WaveMaker Status: $1,000 minimum:

WaveMakers go above and beyond by raising at least $1,000 regardless of your age. Anyone can achieve WaveMaker status - swimmers, volunteers or SAA My Way participants. WaveMakers get special recognition and an exclusive WaveMaker gift. You can learn more about WaveMaker Status here.
