Originally from Oregon, Elsie began her water polo career as early as high school with the influence of her father and sister. She holds the record at the University of California with the eighth-most goals in school history. After joining the U.S. senior national team in 2006, Elsie helped the team with her defensive skills to win multiple first place finishes. In 2008, she competed in the Beijing Olympic games where the team one a silver medal. At the 2009 FINA World Championship Elsie scored six goals to help win the gold medal. Most recently, she won a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympic games.
