Kurt Grote

Kurt Grote

Once ranked as the fifth fastest in U.S. history in the breast stroke, Kurt Grote will be swimming with us in 2008. A Stanford swimmer, Grote didn't even start swimming until he was 15, and then only because his doctor recommended it to help with his asthma! In his lifetime, Grote has won three NCAA breast stroke titles and numerous U.S. championships. He did the 100m breast stroke and the 200m breast stroke in the 1996 Summer Olympics and won the gold that year in the Men's 4 × 100 metres Medley Relay.
