Wendy Weinberg Weil

 

Wendy Weinberg Weil was a member of the 1976 Olympic Team in which she received a bronze in the 800 meter freestyle. She also won the gold in the same event in the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City, and a bronze in the 400 meter freestyle in the World University Games in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1977, plus numerous golds and silvers from the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1973 and 1977. She achieved All American status her freshman year at the University of Virginia, but was hampered by numerous injuries the remainder of her college career at the University of North Carolina. Those injuries led her to a career in Sports Medicine (MS, UNC Chapel Hill) and Physical Therapy. She received  a Graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy from Emory University. Wendy has had her own practicefor 11 years in Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in McLean, VA.,  and was recently named to the Washingtonian Magazine's top 10 Sports Medicine PT's. She also coached age-group swimming for 10 years for 2 local USS swim teams.
